The Specs Behind the Strength (Sierra, Canyon, and Acadia)

Published on May 14, 2026 by SSA Marketing

When we say GMC is "Professional Grade," we aren't just talking about the premium leather or the chrome grilles. We’re talking about the engineering that allows you to haul a boat to Mission Bay, navigate a desert trail in Anza-Borrego, or pack the whole family for a weekend in Julian.

As part of our May Capability Series, we’re breaking down the performance "Big Three" currently filling our lot on The Mile.

1. The Heavy Hitter: Sierra 1500

The 2026 Sierra 1500 remains the king of versatility. With our recent massive shipment, we have every engine configuration on the ground.

  • Max Towing: Up to 13,300 lbs with the 3.0L Duramax® Turbo-Diesel.
  • Max Payload: Up to 2,240 lbs for your heaviest hauling tasks.
  • The Tech Advantage: The ProGrade™ Trailering System offers 13 available camera views, including the "Transparent Trailer View" that lets you see right through your camper while merging on the I-5.

2. The Adventure Expert: GMC Canyon

Don't let the mid-size footprint fool you. The 2026 Canyon punches well above its weight class, offering more standard gas torque than any competitor.

  • Performance: 310 HP and a best-in-class 430 lb-ft of torque standard.
  • Towing: A massive 7,700 lb max towing capacity, perfect for a pair of jet skis or a small horse trailer.
  • Off-Road Ready: Every Canyon comes with a factory-installed 2-inch lift and a wide track for superior stability on uneven terrain.

3. The Family Powerhouse: 2026 Acadia

The redesigned Acadia has evolved into a true capability machine, offering more space and tech than ever before.

  • Cargo Space: A massive 97.5 cu. ft. of max cargo volume—enough for all the gear, groceries, and sports equipment you can throw at it.
  • Towing: Pull up to 5,000 lbs with confidence thanks to the standard Trailering Package on most trims.
  • Super Cruise™: Available hands-free driving technology that works even while trailering on compatible highways.

Which One Fits Your Mission?

Whether you need the raw towing power of the Sierra, the trail-ready agility of the Canyon, or the 8-passenger versatility of the Acadia, your perfect match is sitting on our lot right now.
